 Phantom Detective

Phantom detective is a Korean Detective film about an intelligent detective Hong Gil - Dong who worked for the private detective organization established by her childhood friend Hwang. He's capable of solving any cases. At the beginning of the film while Hong Gil - Dong was travelling to a certain village he said that " He's been tracking his enemy Kim Byung - deok for 20 years & he finally found his location & he's going to kill him "

While he was travelling towards his house his car was punctured in the road. In the meantime King Byung- deok an old man with eye problems was having dinner with his two grand daughters Dong-i & Mal - soon. Then some of the gangsters showed at his house & Kim Byung - deok said her grand daughters to hide. Then the gangsters kidnapped Kim Byung - deok in a car. They met Hong Gil - Dong on the way. But Hong Gil - Dong didn't know Kim Byung - deok in the car. Then Hong Gil - Dong started to move towards the house of Kim Byung - deok. On his way he saw Dong - i & Mal - soon were screaming & running after the car of gangsters.

Hong Gil - Dong entered the house of Kim Byung - deok to kill him . Then only he realized what happened. Then Mal - soon & Dong - i arrived there. Then Hong Gil - Dong got an idea in his mind & he said to the children that he can help them to find their lost grand father.  Actually he planned to use them as bait in order to kill Kim Byung - deok. Then they three started to work together. Those two grand daughters became attached to Hong Gil - Dong while working the case.

Hero vs Villain 

Movie is awesome. There are numerous awesome moments in the movie. Mal - soon is funny and awesome. She had numerous funny moments with Hong Gil - Dong. The film is shown in narrative form. Hong Gil - Dong is saying the story to the audience. Fight scenes also awesome and realistic. Climax gun shooting is mind bending. Hong Gil - Dong is impressive in many scenes. Moreover the scenes of Hong Gil - Dong with two grand daughters are emotional.


" Don't you know,  friends should share " dialogue is used in many occasions in the fim to show the attachment between Hong Gil - Dong & two grand daughters. Acting of all characters & main villain is good. Story of the film is focussed mainly on the mysteries. Comedy is the plus point of  the movie . You will definitely laugh in some scenes between Hong Gil - Dong and the two grand daughters specially with Mal - soon. Background score & theme also good. Cinematography level is very good.

 However audience will feel like movie has only few action scenes. If they add more action scenes then the film will be a best film from Korea. If you love detective stories then you should watch this film. It's an enjoyable movie to watch with family.
