" The Villainess" Movie Analysis and Review

 Villainess

Villainess is 2017 Korean action movie about an elite assassin named Sook-he who got a new life after the years of violence and brutality. Sook-he's father was murdered by his partner in her childhood. Then she was rescued by an assassin named Shin Ha-kyun. He trained her as an elite assassin & she fully prepared herself inorder to get revenge for her father's murder.

After the years of training she finally found the partner & tried to kill him. However that cunt partner captured her with his bodyguard. Then he told her " I'm unable to kill your father. Because he's like brother to me. So I hired an assassin to finish the job. " Then he tried to break the leg of Sook-he using hammer. Suddenly Shin Ha-kyun broke into the building and he killed all of them. However he shocked when he saw the partner.

Then Sook-he and Shin Ha-kyun decided to marry.  After one day of marriage , Sook -he got a call from the friend of Shin Ha-kyun and he said " Shin Ha-kyun finally found the killer of her father and he tried to get revenge for her and they killed him " . After seeing the body of Shin Ha-kyun she asked "who are they? " and that friend told her the location of them. She broke into their building and she brutally killed all of them.  Then she surrendered herself to the police. 

Sook-he in flashback 

After watching her fight video. A secret organization thought she's a valuable asset and they transferred her to their secret facility for training.  But Sook-he didn't have interest to live and she tried to escape from the facility. However she failed in her escape. Then she leant that she's pregnant and now she found a reason to live. The leader of the organization Kwun Sook said Sook-he can get away from the facility and she can start a new life after the training. However she had to do some mission after the training.

She trained hard for years and she also raised her baby in there. Jung Hyun Soo was tasked to watch her secretly through camera in facility. He also gave some gifts to her baby secretly. Then Sook-he was sent on her 1st mission and she succeeded . Then she was sent away from organization with a new identity to start her new life. Jung Hyun Soo also sent by organization to monitor her. He lived next to her. Sook-he and Jung Hyun Soo fell in love after some couple of incidents. Then her friend from the organization asked her help on her first mission. She agreed to help her . In that mission she got her friend killed.

She became depressed by this incident. However Jung Hyun Soo helped her to come away from this tragedy. He also friendly with her baby her. So Sook he finally and Jung Hyun Soo decided to marry. Sook-he asked permission from the director to marry. She agreed with one condition. That condition is "She can start a new life after the marriage. But she has to eliminate a target in her wedding day. She has to snipe the target in the next building of Wedding hall from a bathroom in the wedding hall.

The day had finally arrived. She got ready to eliminate the target. Then only she found that the target is Shin Ha-kyun . She shocked by seeing him alive and she failed to eliminate the target. Then she married and organization said " They assigned her Shin Ha-kyun as the target for her benefit. " However organization released her from their missions. But in deep down Sook-he knew if she want to live happily, then she have to eliminate Shin Ha-kyun from her life. Shin Shin Ha-kyun finally found the killer. But he was unable to identify that the killer is Sook-he because of her new identity.  From this the life of Sook - he turned into a war zone. Watch the movie to know what happened to her , her new husband and her child,  whether she killed Shin Ha-kyun or not and why did Shin Ha-kyun made Sook-he to believe that he is dead.

Shin Ha-kyun vs Sook-he 

Let's see about the quality of the movie. The movie is very intense and full of action scenes. The movie starts with the fight scene of Sook-he in the building after seeing the body of Shin Ha-kyun. That fight scene is amazing. Moreover the uniqueness of that fight scene is it's shown in the first person view through the eyes of Sook -he . I mean you will only see the opponents in the frame from the view of Sook-he. Rather than this there were numerous actions scenes including an amazing fight scene in motor bike , climax bus fight scene, Knife fight scene etc.

Rather than action scenes the love scenes of Sook-he and Jung Hoo - Sung is also good. Moreover the movie is emotional as well. The story and the character development in the movie is also good. The movie tells the story in 2 diffent arcs. One as the current life of Sook-he after she moved into the secret facility and the other is her past life as flashback in her memory. Moreover the acting also enjoyable. The movie is very good, but still it need some improvement in the story. Rather than these some fight scenes seemed bit overwhelming. She killed more than 50 people in the 1st fight scene. That seems like an impossible task. Don't worry too much about the logic. Just enjoy the movie. 

 If you are an action movie lover, then you should definitely watch this movie. In short " Villainess " is one of the best action films of Korea.
